This week's focus was mainly on fundraising, as I continued to gain knowledge on fund development. Also, I learned about the process of putting together educational opportunities, specifically Lunch and Learns. I learned how to put a contact list together for the Lunch and Learn. Additionally, I gained insight on how to prepare for donor meetings and the value of preparing answers to potential questions. For fundraising specifically, the importance of having connections was reinforced. It was emphasized that "having friends" is advantageous in business world. Furthermore, I learned about what a lean design means, what a strong board consists of, and what an in-kind donation means. Overall, this week went by quick as I continued to learn more about non-profits and the business operations behind them.
